Beef Nacho Casserole

Ingredients

2 tablespoons  olive oil
1/2 pound  pre-sliced sweet peppers (about 1/2-inch-wide strips)
1 pound  lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon  garlic salt
1 pack Tacos/Toasted Bread/pizza dough
1 jar (16 ounces)  medium-hot salsa/tomato salsa from scratch
3 cups  shredded taco-cheese blend/Quickmelt/parmesan cheese
1 can (2.2 ounces)  sliced black olives, drained (about 1/4 cup)
3 large  scallions, trimmed and sliced

Directions

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Coat 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add peppers, ground beef and garlic salt; cook, stirring to break up clumps of beef, until the peppers are soft and beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain off any excess fat from skillet.
3. Remove dough from pack. Cut the dough crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide slices, then cut each slice into quarters.
4. In large bowl, toss together dough pieces and salsa. Add cooked meat mixture, 2 cups of the taco-cheese blend and olives. Scrape mixture into baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup taco-cheese blend over the top.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle scallions evenly over the top. Bake an additional 5 minutes.

So true! The difference between men and women

NICKNAMES
If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah.
If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Loser, and Shit for Brains.

EATING OUT
When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

MONEY
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale.

BATHROOMS
A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel.
The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

ARGUMENTS
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

FUTURE
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

SUCCESS
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

MARRIAGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does.

DRESSING UP
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

NATURAL
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

My December 25, 2010.. My Christmas

Christmas is a season for reuniting and of course celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. Christmas is not only a tradition but a very special occasion where we acknowledge God's presence through sharing our love towards our family, friends, and colleagues and even to strangers.

Well, here are my adventures on how I was able to start my Christmas. December 23rd @ work, I started receiving gifts from my respective bosses. Then we took  our midnight lunch at the RJ’s Bulaluhan for 4th time na walang sawa kaming kumakain dun dahil sobrang sarap ng package 1 nila serving Fried tilapia, seafood chopsuey, Pork Sisig, Chicken Teriyaki and Special Bulalo! Busog! First stop: Just as I came out from work, I took 3 hours drive to Batangas but bumped a bit of my time at Fantasy Land.
Next Stop, around 9pm on the 24th, we headed our way to batangas city to Kuya’s home sweet home. From there, we celebrated our noche Buena together with Ate Glenda(Kuya’s Wife).

Looking forward nanaman in Welcoming 2011 with a Big Bang!

On the 12th month, here’s Christmas!!

Lately, I have been thinking about less spending and more savings. Everything was planned according to budget. Then came November 29th, ETIS send out blast messages that our early 13th month has been cleared to our accounts provided that we have to be diligent with our early expenses.  Di naman ako nagulat at naecxite kasi nga I made a promise not to spend any material things for myself but instead, all of it should go to my credit card bills and budget to pay for my $140 US Visa application.

Anyway nakakapagod magisip ng English..

November 30th nung nabili kong hinanap hanap at binalik balikan kong top-sider. Mura lang kasi and same look as the typical Sperry top-sider. Magaan sa paa at fresh! (kasi pwede nang walang medyas! Lol).

And then came  December 8th where Bob, Emmie, Deedee and I were supposedly going to buy 1 pack of yosi at the 3rd floor of RCBC Plaza. Napadaan lang naman kami ulit sa displays ng Watch Republic na nagpopromo ng buy 1 and get 1 for free. Kaya ayun napabili kami at eto ang napili kong bilhin.

Yesterday pagkagaling sa work, Pumunta ako sa auto shop to have my Toniok checked. Nagikotikot pa ako at naghanap ng ibang shops ‘til I found a small shop few blocks away from our pad.

Today, I didn’t have any plans at all para lumabas at magwaldas. After lunch humiga lang ako and turned on the television. Haha.. Kaya ayun naadik nanaman ako sa pagbili ng polo shirts at syempre advantage was, I was able to buy gifts for my kuya, ate Glenda tomy titas and cousins.

Hayy.. 6 days to go nalang at Christmas na.

Inday: Angelina, can you cease for a while? It’s time for you to take a bath.

Inday: I baked some chocolate cookies for you but you can only have it after you take a bath.

Angelina: Whatever yaya! (ngunit napaisip din sya) Ok wait, I will finish this round muna.

Inday: What are you up to anyway? (sabay lapit sa computer)

Angelina: Don’t touch that! I’m playing online Blackjack. I won $6 na. I will be back ok?

Angelina: Yaya!!! What are you doing??! (sigaw ni Angelina)
Lumapit sya sa computer at napansing meron na syang $829.

Angelina: Wow yaya! What did you do?

Inday: It’s quite simple really iha. I first employed a multilevel Hi-Lo scheme with a side count add-on based on the Zen Count system. But of course, I was utilizing an overall true count methodology to take into account the multiple decks being used. Then I took it up a peg to the Uston Advanced Point Count method and paid particular attention to strategically optimizing my bets using the three-color chip scenario to disguise my wager.

Nawindang si Angelina sa explanation ni Inday.

Angelina: Wow yaya. You’re such a winner!

Napa-smile na lang si Inday.
(mukhang nagkakasundo na ang dalawa)

PULUBI -----

Inday: Of course, would you like some?
Pulubi: Care to offer me some of those too Inday?
Inday: Sure help yourself!
Maglalako: (matapos makakain ng ilang popcorn) … May joke ako. Ano ang last name ni Chef Tony?
Napaisip ang mga tao…
Ederlyn: Ferrer? Chef Tony Ferrer?
Pulubi: DaTiger? Chef Tony DaTiger?
Maglalako: Nope.. nope… sirit na?
Ethan: O sige sirit na kami.
Maglalako: Ede Alarcon! Hahahaha.
Inday: Chef Tony Alarcon? (mukhang di na-gets ni Inday)

Prayer

An act of the virtue of religion which consists in asking proper gifts or graces from God. In a more general sense it is the application of the mind to Divine things, not merely to acquire a knowledge of them but to make use of such knowledge as a means of union with God. This may be done by acts of praise and thanksgiving, but petition is the principal act of prayer.

The words used to express it in Scripture are: to call up (Genesis 4:26); to intercede (Job 22:10); to mediate (Isaiah 53:10); to consult (1 Samuel 28:6); to beseech (Exodus 32:11); and, very commonly, to cry out to. The Fathers speak of it as the elevation of the mind to God with a view to asking proper things from Him (St. John Damascene, On the Orthodox Faith III.24); communing and conversing with God (St. Gregory of Nyssa, "De oratione dom.", in P.G., XLIV, 1125); talking with God (St. John Chrysostom, "Hom. xxx in Gen.", n. 5, in P.G., LIII, 280). It is therefore the expression of our desires to God whether for ourselves or others. This expression is not intended to instruct or direct God what to do, but to appeal to His goodness for the things we need; and the appeal is necessary, not because He is ignorant of our needs or sentiments, but to give definite form to our desires, to concentrate our whole attention on what we have to recommend to Him, to help us appreciate our close personal relation with Him. The expression need not be external or vocal; internal or mental is sufficient.

By prayer we acknowledge God's power and goodness, our own neediness and dependence. It is therefore an act of the virtue of religion implying the deepest reverence for God and habituating us to look to Him for everything, not merely because the thing asked be good in itself, or advantageous to us, but chiefly because we wish it as a gift of God, and not otherwise, no matter how good or desirable it may seem to us. Prayer presupposes faith in God and hope in His goodness. By both, God, to whom we pray, moves us to prayer. Our knowledge of God by the light of natural reason also inspires us to look to Him for help, but such prayer lacks supernatural inspiration, and though it may avail to keep us from losing our natural knowledge of Godgraces.  and trust in Him, or, to some extent, from offending Him, it cannot positively dispose us to receive His
